‘Where is the center of gravity?’

This work is full of flat humor with a woman and a man appeared in strange relationship . This sort of video can be seen as a flat humor in this reality where the medium of movie, equipped with incredible technical skills and capital strength, lets public’s imagination free like reality as it is routinized. This works is, as the artist says, cinematic yet the ways in which it ties narratives are far from sophisticated editing technique or natural progression. All three works shape the whole story with poor performances by amateur actors, images that seemed to be thrown out as NG, and scenes of actors undressing or putting on makeup (Chang Jia)’.
Though it is rough like music of LP record, her work is worth noticing in that created as it penetrates daily life and the narratives of that world, female desire which is a subconscious driving force that leads the world of fiction is affirmed.
서로 간에 이상스런 관계로 설정된 남녀가 등장하는 작품 역시 썰렁한 유모어로 가득 차 있었다. 엄청난 기술력과 자본으로 무장하고 대중의 상상을 현실처럼 펼쳐내는 영화 매체가 일상화된 현실 속에서 이러한 류의 영상은 썰렁한 농담처럼 보일 법도 하다. 작가 스스로가 밝히듯이, 이 작품들은 영화적이되 내러티브를 묶어 가는 방식이 세련된 편집이나 자연스러운 진행과는 거리가 있다. 세 개의 작품은 모두 ‘아마추어 연기자들의 매끄럽지 않은 연기, NG로 잘라 버렸음직한 영상들, 배우의 탈의와 분장장면들로 전체 이야기를 연결하고’(장지아)있다.
비록 툭툭 튀는 LP판으로 듣는 음악같이 거칠지만, 그녀의 작품은 깨진 일상의 틈을 파고들며 생성되는 픽션의 세계와 그 세계의 내러티브를 이끌어 가는 무의식적 원동력인 여성의 욕망이 긍정된다는 점에서 주목할만하다…..
